Can INSIDE be installed on all dental
units?

Basically, yes, provided there is enough space
for the two arms to be fitted (monitor and INSIDE)

What is the min. internal diameter for
the cables to pass through the dental
unit column?
|
|
The diametre required for the cable insertions is
30mm. If the monitor uses a VGA cable, the
diameter is 35mm .

Is it possible to carry out an external
installation?
|
|
Absolutely. It is mandatory on those dental units
where the cable insertion inside the dental unit
column is not possible.

Can I use an already installed monitor?
|
|
Yes, provided that there is an analogue
composite RCA video input.

Can images and films be acquired on a
PC?
|
|
Yes, provided your PC has an acquisition board
with RCA Output. .

Does the installation of INSIDE affect
the certification of the dental unit?
|
|
No. the INSIDE system is Class IIA Certified and
as such can be applied to the dental unit. Of
course, the fitter must follow the instructions
provided in the endoscope installation manual.

Does the installation of the INSIDE
affect the guarantee of the dental unit?
|
|
It depends on the manufacturer of the dental unit
itself. Nevertheless, if in doubt we recommend
external application which does not require any
changes to the dental unit column.

Is it normal for the image to be
disturbed when I focus on objects more
than 60mm away?
|
|
Yes. INSIDE's working distance ranges between
25 and 60 mm. Beyond this distance, the image
may be fuzzy. .

Can I use INSIDE to show images on
TV?
|
|
Yes, just connect the TV set to the second
output on the Freeze Box.

Are the protection accessories sold
separately. .

Yes

Can I completely shut off the
compressed air used by INSIDE?
|
|
No. The air can be adjusted but not shut off as it
prevents the endoscope frpm cross-
contaminations. .

Are the accessory mirrors used easily
available on the market?
|
|
Yes, although those used and sold by Faro have
been slightly deformed to get a better image.

Does INSIDE have auto-focus and / or
zoom functions?
|
|
No. The optics are specially designed for
applications in dental surgery and guarantee
focusing within a range of 25-60mm. Zooming is
possible by moving the endoscope closer to or
further away from the tooth in question.

Can I use INSIDE with an integrated PC?
|
|
Yes. An onboard PC can be used, provided that
the acquisition board is fast enough to work in
real time. Nevertheless, we advise against using
a PC as the image shown on the video would be
reduced to about 10" in the case of a 17"
monitor. .

How big should the internal diameter of
the dental unit column be in order to

In your experience, how long does it
take to learn this new working
technique?
|
|
Naturally there is a learning curve that varies to
suit the time and effort made. Past experience
shows that you can do most of your everyday
activities in indirect vision within the space of 3
months. .

Can I avoid using my dental lamp?
|
|
Your lamp is not necessary, but we strongly
recommend that you use it to get better colours
and increase the sense of depth thanks to the
shadows that a second source of light creates.

What tips can you give me when I start
using indirect vision through INSIDE?
|
|
We recommend that you start with diagnosis
activities, using a probe to get familiar with the
system and its functions. Then you can go onto
ablation, conservation and finally, surgery.

When using a laser, can I focus on the
working area?
|
|
Yes. What is more, the endoscope lets you see
the laser beam without the use of filters.
