BUSINESS INSTALLATION OF THE YEAR
* Highly Commended / Runner UP *
.
|
|
The Phoenix AV project was for the
Charnwood Training Academy and the
judges comments were as follows:
'The Charnwood Training centre wanted to make it possible for chefs carrying
out training to use AV support and to carry out demonstrations to live and
remote audiences. The centre also wanted trainers to be able to view, monitor
and record training activities and for material to be made available online.
The Phoenix AV installation allows lecturers to use interactive boards and
screens and to access any one of seven cameras to watch, monitor, train and
communicate with students working remotely in areas such as the bar,
restaurant or mock cellar. Activities are recorded to the central library and
converted to online archives using MediaSite.
User benefits include the capture of learning content, the creation of
personalised learning materials and allowing the centre to attract high-quality
staff'.

FREELANCE TRAINER OF THE YEAR
* GOLD AWARD *
Dennis Silverlock
.
|
|
|
This award is presented to a freelance trainer who has shown exceptional skills
in managing, delivering and / or contributing through assignments to the
success of their clients over the past twelve months. In particular, the judges
will be seeking clear differentiators from other entrants to the award, evidence
of innovation and client endorsement, being a well rounded individual and
having a strong proposition in response to the challenge 'what was special
about your performance this year?'.
.
The Judges Said: . 'Dennis's background as a Senior Army Officer in both command and training
functions have provided him with a unique set of skills and capabilities that he
is now putting to excellent use in the commercial market, where he specialises
in training users for the effective use of Whiteboard technology and AV
solutions. He exhibits both excellent consultative skills together with 'out of the
box' thinking to create innovative and creative bespoke training solutions.
These provide his clients with not only a better appreciation of the technology
available, but also how to best use these technologies. As such, he has
helped create award winning training facilities and content as well as
substantial benefits for his clients.
